About Us
Pam is a seasoned executive in the Business Operations division of the United States Marine Corps — a career she's genuinely passionate about. But underneath it has always run a second current: a love of travel and a pull toward building something of her own. For years, the demands of that career left little room to follow either. She treasured the family trips she managed to take, but it's only in the past few years that she's had the chance to chase the kind of travel she'd always imagined.
That chance arrived at the hardest possible moment. Three years ago, Pam lost her husband of over three decades to cancer. In the wake of that loss, she found herself reaching for a way to heal — to meet grief not by standing still, but by moving, by saying yes to life in spontaneous, unexpected ways. That instinct has stayed with her ever since: a sense of urgency, a refusal to let a day pass unlived. Planning a trip, working out every detail of an itinerary, became more than logistics — it became how she coped with loneliness and loss. And somewhere along the way, she discovered that the planning itself could be almost as exciting as the trip.
She started sharing those travels on social media, and it struck a nerve. People didn't just like the photos — they told her the posts meant something. "I love following your adventures." "I'm living vicariously through your posts." "I'm going to start getting out more, just like you." Pam's own way of moving through grief had become, for a lot of people watching, a quiet permission to do the same.
Out of that loss came something Pam never expected to build: a business. BluViolet Adventures is her exceptional eye for planning — the same instinct for detail and discovery that carried her through her hardest years — now put to work for anyone chasing fun, excitement, and something new.
BluViolet is just getting started, and Pam would love for you to be part of it from here.
